Biochemist William Boyd produced a number of influential and well-respected short stories under the pen name "Boyd Ellanby." In the novella The Star Lord, the state-of-the-art spacecraft of the same name is slated for a record-breaking maiden voyage, but a dark cloud of apprehension and unease surrounds the launch.
